Boys Varsity Football · Raiders fall to Mays 35-28 in Great Atlanta Bash

Mays jumped out early to a 7-0 lead. Kamari Murphy then recovered a fumble and took it to the house to make the the game 7-6.  Mays countered back with two scoring drives and took a 21-6 lead.  The Raiders kept fighting with an offensive drive capped off by a TD for Marcus Polite and the 2 point conversion by Malik Harris.  The Raiders defense held and the offense marched down the field again.  Avaun Rucker finished the drive with a QB keeper and tied the game up 21-21 going into the half.

Mays once again got the jump i the second half and took the lead 28-21, but the Raiders countered with a 40 yd TD from Rucker to Collins to tie it up.   In the 4th quarter Mays once again scored making the score 35-28 and with less then 2 min to go got the ball back.  The game was looking bleak till Ian Hackney intercepted the Mays quarterback giving he Raiders hope with less then a minute to go.  The Raiders put together a short drive but failed to pull out the win.

The Raiders will be home next Friday vs. Drew for SENIOR NIGHT.  4 tickets per athlete will be allotted for purchase and information will be provided as soon as available on purchasing.
