Boys Varsity Track · Raiders Boys Take 1st Place at CCPS Track & Field Championship


The Riverdale Raiders Boys Track & Field Team brought home the 1st place overall trophy at the Clayton County Public School Track & Field Championship.

Xavier Allen put on a performance to remember winning 3 gold medals by way of the 300 meter hurdles, pole vault & helped the 4×400 meter relay team. He added a silver medal to his collection by placing 2nd in the 400 meter dash.

Jaeden Douglass won 3 gold medals by winning the 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, and helped the 4×400 meter relay team.

Denzel Bell received a gold medal as a member of the 4×400 meter relay team and received a bronze medal in the 800 meter run.

Marquett Edwards won gold as a member of the 4×400 meter relay team and a bronze medal as a member of the 4×100 meter relay team.

Jakwon Lipscomb won the silver medal in the high jump and a bronze medal as a member of the 4×100 meter relay team.

Other members of the bronze medalist 4×100 meter relay team include Churchill Ezeokonkwo, & Elijah Denson.

Anthony Smith received a bronze medal in the pole vault and placed 5th in the 300 meter hurdles.

The Lady Raiders placed 4th overall.

The girls’ team was led by Runeshia Williams won 2 gold medals by way of the shot put and discus.

Precious Austin won a silver medal in the 100 meter dash and a gold medal as a member of the 4×100 meter relay team.

Other members of the gold medalist 4×100 meter relay team include: Mya Jackson, Tamia Hawkins, & Zakeria Jones.

The Track & Field Team wants to thank the teachers for supporting our Raiders & Lady Raiders at the Clayton County Track & Field Championship on Saturday.

Next track meet is Saturday April 15th at Drew High School.
